No-exam life insurance
Who is eligible for accelerated decisions, what happens in the process, and alternatives if you're not in that category.
A growing number of carriers offer expedited underwriting: applicants in the right age band and asking for the right amount can get approval decisions based on your application plus prescription and driving records—not a physical exam. Approvals sometimes come within a day. Every quote displayed here shows which carriers require exams, which might, and which don't.
What it changes
Expedited underwriting isn't the same as skipped underwriting. Carriers verify your responses, pull history from prescriptions and motor vehicle records, and issue decisions—but two years is the window where misstatements can be contested. If data they pull up creates questions, they reserve the right to request testing anyway.
Who tends to qualify
The typical candidate is younger than approximately 60, seeking a coverage amount within the carrier's streamlined underwriting limit, without significant prior medical issues, and with at least a year since last tobacco use. Some carriers accept recent medical lab results instead of requiring a new exam.
If testing is required, count on a nurse or paramedic visiting your home or workplace in the Imperial Beach region for 20 to 30 minutes, with no charge. For people in good health, the results of a completed exam can sometimes move you to a better rate tier, so it's not necessarily unfavorable.
